Tongswood Estate

A fresh take on Hogwarts but with a twist, this imposing and impressive Victorian mansion house, privately owned by the Gunther family of OXO fame, until 1946 is set in 250 acres on the outskirts of a pretty village in Kent. Attended by the film director Lindsay Anderson, I wonder what his imagination might have unlocked had he had the opportunity to use it as a setting for one of his own films. Known today as the ‘Great Space’ the original ballroom provides an impressive backdrop and expansive interior presenting endless creative possibilities.
