Fairytale Castle

Set amid idyllic grounds where peacocks roam, and surrounded by battlements and a moat, this medieval castle is deeply romantic. Probably erected on a Roman site, although Bronze Age implements and copper ingots suggest it has long been inhabited, the castle is steeped in history and lavishly adorned with art and decorative objects of significant importance - although somehow it still exudes a comfortable charm. Quite unexpectedly each of the many bedrooms are decorated with patterned wallpapers in pleasing slightly faded tones which creates a warm juxtaposition to the stone surfaces which underpin everything else. Imposing yet inviting, this location is completely private, enshrouded by beautifully mature trees on the outskirts of a Kentish village close to the sea.
