Great Dixter House and Garden
Great Dixter is a historic house nestled in the Sussex countryside, best known for its romantic English gardens, created by the passionate gardener Christopher Lloyd.
A warm ambience radiates throughout the house, which is made up of three distinct parts: a 15th century hall, a 16th-century yeoman's abode and a 20th-century quarter designed by Edwin Lutyens.
Complete with a Great Hall, Parlour, Yeomans Hall, Solar and Waiting Hall, as well as charming bedrooms, an Arts & Crafts kitchen and copious picturesque corners, the house is a rich source of inspiration with an abundance of charm. A latticed oak staircase, raw plaster walls embellished with a decorative stencil design and exposed medieval timbers are just some of the photogenic characteristics.
Much of Christopher’s belongings remain untouched in the house, which add to the enchanting atmosphere, and outside beauty evolves throughout the seasons in the ravishing gardens.
